Coach Spotlight – December 2018

ALAN FRYE – COACH SPOTLIGHT DECEMBER 2018

Hey, my name is Alan.  My Dad is still in law enforcement after 47+ years, and my Mom was a nurse until her own health issues forced her to stop.  She is a blessing as she’s been through a lot, but with God, all things are possible.  i also have an older brother who lives near and is part of my life.  I’ve worked a few jobs in my life, but the one most rewarding has been with the school system, mentoring kids.  Even as a detention officer, I find myself trying to mentor those who have lost their way.

I participated in sports in high school, but I was definitely not the most fit person.  I really became interested in fitness when Holly Weiss asked me to try CrossFit.  I decided to give a try.  The WOD just happened to be “Murph.”  It kicked my butt, but I felt great afterwards.

My favorite type of workout involves lifting heavy weight at a steady pace.

What I enjoy most about working with Full Armor Teens is the fact that the kids are willing to learn and try new movement, are concerned about their health, and are looking for the fellowship and motivation you get from working out in the CrossFit environment.

My biggest accomplishment is motivating others to challenge and push themselves toward their goals.

My favorite thing about CrossFit 611 is that we are next door to Buffalo Wild Wings … LOL just kidding!  I love the fact that CrossFit, our gym specifically, focuses on its families and it’s community.  Everyone can find what he/she is looking for whether it’s lifting heavy weight, getting in cardio, finding and building friendships, working in the community, or reaching health goals.
