What year did you start CrossFitting?

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

Prior to crossfit, I’d mostly just worked out to “burn calories” and fit into my clothes. I had started teaching at a new school and our PE teacher was a CF games competitor, and just overall awe inspiring.  After a month or two, she convinced me to go and try it, and even though I had to scale everything, and couldn’t even do a push up from my knees, I was hooked.  Fun fact: I STILL can’t RX the first WOD I did – stupid ring dips!

Why did you become a trainer?

I love watching people find their personal strengths and accomplishing things they didn’t think they could do. My absolute favorite thing is the smile that breaks out when someone PRs or finishes something they are proud of.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Box Jumps

What is your favorite cheat food?

Vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

James Buchanan “Bucky” Barnes because he overcame adversity with the help of his friends, he’s a great example of classical conditioning for my psychology students (; And because my daughter wants to be him.

When did you start CrossFit?

2010

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I’ve always wanted to live a healthy lifestyle after suffering from severe low self-esteem growing up but when stepping into a gym, I was lost among the equipment.  A friend recommended CrossFit while living in Japan and ever since that day, I fell in love!

Why did you become a trainer?

I became a CrossFit Trainer because CrossFit opened up a passion inside me to help others, especially women, feel proud and confident no matter the number on the scale.  Also, that strong is beautiful!

What’s your favorite Crossfit movement?

My favorite CrossFit movement is either Power Cleans or Burpees.

What is your favorite cheat food?

I am a sucker for anything sweet so that is definitely my cheat food.

What’s your favorite superhero and why?

Favorite super hero is Batman because he trains hard and kicks butt without super human abilities.

What year did you start CrossFitting?

January 1, 2013 – Big New Years Resolution!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I have always been an athlete and someone that prioritizes fitness in life.  I grew up being  a swimmer and continued on to be a collegiate swimmer at the Division I level.  Having swimming in my life taught me how to work hard and manage my time, which is one the main reasons I love CrossFit so much.  After having kids, I wanted to get back into shape but efficiently and crossfit is perfect for that!

Why did you become a Trainer?

I love coaching and the competitive atmosphere of crossfit.  Being a crossfit coach is personally fulfilling for me because I love being able to help people succeed!

What is your favorite CrossFit movement?
Power Clean!

What is your favorite cheat food?
Any and all desserts!

What is your favorite superhero and why?
I don’t really know anything about superheroes!  Maybe Michael Phelps, he’s super human! Lol

What year did you start CrossFit?  

I started CrossFit in 2015.

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I was athletic (a cheerleader) in middle school and high school.  After having my second baby I did not like my body and I felt very “out of shape.”  I started workout videos at home to get my pre-baby body back.  About a year after having my son, a friend finally convinced me to try out CrossFit. I came to one Saturday Community WOD and LOVED it!

Why did you become a trainer?

I became a trainer because 1) I LOVE CrossFit 611.  It is like my home away from home.  A day without being at 611 is a rough day.  I also became a trainer because 2) I LOVE CrossFit, 3) because I want to help other people love CrossFit too, 4) to help people reach their goals, and 5) to build a healthy community.

What is your favorite CrossFit movement?

My favorite CrossFit movements are pull-ups and toes-to-bar.

What is your favorite cheat food?

My favorite cheat food is Mexican food!!!  Yum!!!

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

I’m not really a big superhero person but if I’m going to pick someone that is superhero-like it would be Daenerys Targaryen. She’s timid and naive at first but comes into her own and kick’s butt!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?
I’ve played sports since a very young age and they have always been a big part of my life. I enjoy the process of learning new skills and gradually trying to become better at something every day. CrossFit was something that appealed to me because I realized that it would be a never ending journey of trying to raise my fitness to the next level and it could never become boring since every workout is different.
Why did you become a trainer?
I have a background in golf instruction and college coaching, where I enjoyed analyzing different techniques and finding ways to make them better. Once I started CrossFit, I knew that it was something I could enjoy as a career by helping people who are serious about their health and fitness reach their goals. It has also given me the privilege to meet people from all walks of life.
What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?
Running (does that count??), rowing, double-unders…anything cardio.
What is your favorite cheat food?
Duck Donuts
What’s your favorite Superhero and why?
Star-Lord (from Guardians of the Galaxy) because he has great taste in music!

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

In college the elliptical was my JAM! I thought I was doing awesome hitting 300 calories on there, haha. My love for fitness/ wellness transformed while I was in college, I became active in intramural sports, started running, coached a high school cheerleading team and assisted with a fitness program for elementary aged youth. Our body’s are these AMAZING machines and I love learning and implementing concepts that lead to a more fit and healthy lifestyle. When I graduated college and moved back home I figured I’d try out this “CrossFit” thing. As the story goes, I LOVED IT! It felt really good to see myself improve and know that it’s because of my hard work and dedication, no such thing as luck in CrossFit.

Why did you become a trainer?

I love the idea of helping others better themselves; being able to help someone accomplish a goal or learn a new skill brings me so much joy. I also hope to be a role model to young girls, I want them to know that being strong is awesome and whatever athletic ability, shape or size you are – you’re a rockstar. A healthy lifestyle is so fun and gratifying and I want everyone to love it just as much as I do!

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Deadlifts and Power Cleans!

What is your favorite cheat food?

Ice Cream 🙂 🙂 and PIZZA

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Batman, because the movies are the best!

What year did you start CrossFitting?

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I’ve played sports all my life but didn’t start lifting weights until I joined the military. My typical workout included machines and free weights with no real program other than back & bis, chest and triceps, and squats and calfs on Fridays. I had no idea what I was doing back then but I thought, if everyone else is doing it must work. What I didn’t like about it… it was boring. I started playing volleyball and basketball more frequently to avoid going to the gym. Then I forced myself to “enjoy” running. All that being said, I never really looked forward to working out.

But all of the sudden my active lifestyle came to an abrupt halt when I suffered Sudden Cardiac Death on the basketball court. I had an implantable cardiac defibrillator placed in my chest and was afraid to do more than a light jog. For five years after my incident I had gained weight and lost all motivation to exercise. My neighbor introduced me to my first CrossFit workout in 2012. I loved it because it was like nothing I had ever done and I could go at my own pace. I was able to build up my stamina over time and became more fit in my 40’s than I was in my 20’s. CrossFit has changed my life and I see myself doing WODs for long after I retire.

Why did you become a trainer?

Well we started off a little backwards in our journey. My wife and loved CrossFit and the Community and we were looking at an opportunity for a business. The first step of course was getting our Level 1 and putting some coaching time under our belt. It started off as just a stepping stone to our ultimate goal of being gym owners but we found that we truly love being CrossFit trainers. The impact you are able to have when coaching people you consider your friends is more than rewarding. Watching your athletes become stronger and faster, watching them grow as a member of the community, and being there when they achieve their first double-under or first toes to bar, just makes our hearts warm.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

Over head squats and double-unders.

What is your favorite cheat food?

Chocolate chip cookie dough

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

My favorite Superhero is Captain America. He stands for something greater than himself.

My name is Becky Dooley.  CrossFit has been a part of my daily routine since 2012.  I’ve been a CrossFit Trainer since 2014.  I have always been active, but when I turned 40, I let life get in the way of my fitness.  For me, CrossFit is about health and longevity, fitness and strength, and a community like no other.

Being a gym owner has given my husband, Shawn, and I the opportunity to make a difference in our community.   We have been blessed with an amazing group of families and individuals to help, to mentor and to guide on their fitness and health journeys.

Being a trainer helps me to get to know athletes and to help them find their place in our community.  My background is in nursing, so safety is important to me.  Being a trainer allows me to teach, encourage and practice safe movements.  Besides, teaching is the best way to learn!

CrossFit 611 has been a true blessing that allows Shawn and I to share our love of Jesus through fitness and community.

What year did you start CrossFitting?

Why did you get into fitness (and CrossFit)?

I’ve always been into fitness someway or another whether it be high school sports or a figure show. I became very interested in CrossFit when someone challenged me to my first WOD at a “golds gym” type place…when that kicked my butt, I found the challenge addicting and here I am today!

Why did you become a trainer?

I started CrossFit with an amazing coach who got our team to regionals. I saw what he did for athletes day in and day out and he once told me I could easily do what he does because it comes natural to me…with a teacher, fitness group instructor, and outgoing background it did seem to fit.

What’s your favorite CrossFit movement?

SNATCH, snatch, SNATCH!!! I also love handstand walks and overhead squats…basically anything overhead

What is your favorite cheat food?

Ice cream!! Pumpkin ice cream with ginger snaps crumbled on top!!

What’s your favorite Superhero and why?

Wonder Woman… duh! Because she’s Wonder……woman!!

Why did you get into fitness?

I have been involved in some sort of athletics since I was 5 years old. I can’t imagine any other way.

Why did you become a trainer?

I started working as an official in weightlifting and gradually moved into coaching. I discovered that I loved teaching people and watching them improve.
